Village Meal Prep, Storage, & Reheating Guide
We craft every meal with love and nourishment. Here’s a simple guide to store, freeze, and reheat your postpartum meals from both our 3-day and 7-day meal packages:
Storage Guidelines:
Please refrigerate all meals immediately upon arrival.
Some of our beverages (bone broth hot chocolate, tumeric cinnamon blend, herbal tea) can be stored at room temperature.
Meals are made fresh and are best enjoyed for up to 4 days in the fridge. For anything you plan to enjoy later in the week (Day 5-7), we recommend freezing to lock in freshness.
Freeze for up to 3 months. Cool meals completely before freezing, leaving space for expansion.
Reheating:
Microwave: Transfer food to a microwave-safe dish, cover lightly, and heat in 60-90 second intervals, stirring in between, until warmed through.
Stovetop: Warm meals over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Soups & Stews: Add a splash of broth or water if needed.
Breakfast Bowl: For best results, please remove the eggs before reheating the bowl contents, whether using the microwave or stovetop. Some items, like our
Sweet Potato Yogurt Bowl & Chia Pudding: Enjoy cold - no reheating needed.
Almond Flour Pancakes: Refrigerated pancakes can be warmed in a toaster, toaster oven, or microwave. If microwaving, consider wrapping in damp cloth or paper towel for moisture. Frozen pancakes can be reheated in the oven at 350°F until heated through, or in the microwave. Enjoy toppings separately.
Shepherd's Pie: Best reheated in the oven at 350°F for 15–20 minutes or until warmed through.
Heat all meals to 165°F when applicable.
Freezing & Thawing Tips:
Use airtight containers/bags; label with the date.
Thaw overnight in the fridge or reheat slowly from frozen.
Drink Preparation Guide:
Bone Broth Hot Chocolate
Heat 8 oz of water or milk until hot (not boiling). Whisk in 1 tbsp of the blend until smooth.
Turmeric Cinnamon Blend
For hot golden milk, warm 8 oz of milk, whisk in 1 tsp of the blend, and simmer for 2-3 minutes. For an iced latte, dissolve 1 tsp of the blend in a splash of warm water, add 8 oz of cold milk, and pour over ice.
Herbal Tea
Steep the tea bag in 8 oz of boiling water for 5-7 minutes. For iced tea, use 2 tea bags in 16 oz of boiling water, steep for 10 minutes, then cool and serve over ice.
